AUĻI
Sendzirdēju
Lauska CD 04 (2005)
Traditional tunes of short repetitive phrases played by a group of six Latvian
bagpipers, accompanied by thudding, thumping drums. A touch of gruff approximate
singing, some shouts, one number on whistles and jew’s-harp. Good to see a
Latvian bagpipe revival, and it’s a strong idea, but as an album not powerful or
interesting enough yet. www.auli.lv
