Shishigin draws a remarkable range of vocal, melodic and imitative sounds from the khomus (jew’s-harp) in this solo set of improvisations and compositions. This blacksmith-made instrument has strong cultural and shamanistic significance in his north Siberian homeland of Sakha-Yakutia, and recently has been undergoing a renaissance there.
